What is TRUTH?

The Language of Truth

The word Truth stems from the Old English trīewth, implying faith and constancy. It evolves through various derivative forms that shape our interactions:

  • Truthfulness:

The internal habit of being honest.

  • Truism:

A statement that is so obviously true that it says nothing new.

  • Untruth:

Not just a lie, but a deviation from the light of reality.

Truth Is Light

"Truth as light" is a metaphor symbolizing understanding, reality, where truth illuminates darkness, reveals clarity, and leads to intellectual enlightenment.

It exists beyond appearances. When revealed, it liberates, allowing us to evolve, build stronger foundations, and advance.

Truth acts as the ultimate illuminant, turning a cluttered landscape of 'maybe' into a certain path of 'is'.

Objective Reality

Truth is objective reality confirmed by physical means, sometimes scientific or by a sequence of facts put into a logical construction. Moreover, in metaphysics and the philosophy of language, truth is the property of sentences, assertions, beliefs, thoughts, or propositions that are said, in ordinary discourse, to agree with the facts or to state what is the case.

Facts

Verified data points that remain true regardless of belief.

Logic

The structural reasoning that connects evidence to conclusion.

Science

The systematic study of the world through observation and experiment.

Unhidden Facts

Truth exists beyond appearances. It removes illusion and exposes what was concealed. It is refered to by people to indicate reliable information, mark scientific findings well supported by evidence, distinguish accurate testimony from misrepresentation, and emphasize honesty and sincerity in personal life.

Real Feelings

Truth is not only scientific. It is emotional honesty, acknowledging what is felt, not what is convenient. Truth is typically regarded as a positive value, either because of its beneficial consequences or as an intrinsic good pursued for its own sake.

Liberation & Progress

Truth liberates. It allows us to evolve, build stronger foundations, and move forward with clarity. According to Karl Popper, progress isn't finding the final truth, but getting "less wrong" every day. To move forward is to treat every 'truth' as a stepping stone, not a resting place.
